Welcome to this year's Annual Report. This has been a challenging year for all of us in so many ways, but TLA has been evolving and solving things, as we move forward.

Douglas: Welcome to this year's Annual Report. This has been a challenging year for all of us in so many ways, but TLA has been evolving and solving things, as we move forward.

Betsy: This Annual Report celebrates fiscal year 2020 when we have delivered 19 new startups, 347 new [applications for] patents, and we've executed 95 licenses.

Douglas: The pandemic has caused us to change the way we worked, and moving everybody off-site, and evolving the way we interact with our faculty, and with our potential licensees.

Betsy: Each of our 19 new startups in 2020 alone, has immense possibilities for having impact in the world. From Electrosonix, which is developing new kinds of ultrasonic technologies for cardiac applications to SaiOx, which is remarkably responding to the COVID-19 pandemic challenges with the delivery of a new kind of technology for supporting breathing in patients that have tremendous breathing difficulty.

Douglas: We've been adapting our practices and repositioning our portfolio, and making things available on the web in new ways for people to find how they can interact with us in a positive way.

Betsy: I am enormously proud to support the people of Tech Launch Arizona who take our cutting edge and most impactful ideas, and deliver them out into the world. They know enough about the university and they interact with leading edge researchers, and they take those ideas, they wrap credibility, business impact, IP, patent development around that, and take all of that and deliver it into places where it can have lasting impact.

Douglas: In the coming years, we're going to focus on growing and diversifying our partners, our inventors, and our entrepreneurs, and increase the support we give to our launch startups to make them more successful, and grow the ecosystem in Tucson and the region.
