Herbostroiodine, a novel, herbal-based radioprotective compound.

Radiotherapy has severe side effects for cancer patients. Herbostroiodine helps to reduce the side effects of radiotherapy by removing unneeded radio-drug.

The Problem

Cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy often suffer severe side effects due to collateral damage of surrounding tissue. Radioprotective drugs are currently very limited and often have severe side effects without efficacy. The existing treatments are often chemically harsh, expensive, and lack long-term safety data. There’s a pressing need for natural, non-toxic solutions that can protect healthy cells and potentially fight cancer itself and lead to an improved clearance of unlocalized radioisotopes.

The Solution

SEBREH’s Herbostroiodine, is a novel, herbal-based radioprotective and anti-cancer compound. It has shown effectiveness in the context of iodine and strontium radioisotope treatments. It is formulated from natural sources and enhanced with cold plasma technology for increased bioavailability and efficacy, Herbostroiodine aims to protect healthy tissues during radiation therapy while exhibiting anti-tumor activity.

The Opportunity

The radiotherapy market for cancer through radioisotope in 2024 was just under $8 billion with an expected CAGR of 7% and reaching about $13 billion in 2031. The need for adjunctive therapies that reduce radiation side effects will increase accordingly. With an increasing demand and desire for natural, safe, and sustainable solutions in healthcare and food safety, SEBREH is uniquely positioned to license Herbostroiodine to pharma and biotech partners.

Status

SEBREH’s Herbostroiodine is in the early validation phase with promising biological results. Patent applications have been filed due protect the IP and are actively prosecuted. The next steps are formalized preclinical studies around efficacy, toxicology, and pharmacokinetics leading to an IND submission. R&D, regulatory approval, and pilot partnerships.
